Two besties, dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale and a popular radio presenter, Andy Dosty destroyed their friendship a few months ago after Shatta Wale ungratefully stated that no one assisted him in reaching where he is now. A statement, he Shatta Wale later apologised for.
We thought that was all until a few days ago, Shatta Wale again disrespectfully threatened to slap any radio presenter who mentions his name on their show because they discussed on his performance to less than 40 people during his Kwaw Easter show.
However, Andy Dosty and his panellists on Tuesday 30th April 2019’s edition of Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show discussed on the disrespectful behaviour exhibited by one uprising singer, Fameye on the media after he angrily walked out from Kessben FM studio in Kumasi.
According to Andy Dosty, the media should leave Fameye alone because he is not the only artiste who has disrespected the media.
“The media is complaining that he is disrespectful, is he the only musician they’ve seen? People have disrespected the media and you sit there saying nothing about it. We’ve been threatened that we will be slapped, people sit there and insult us, they talk to us anyhow.”
“What are you guys doing about it?… I am taking it personal!!. They disrespect us they talk to us anyhow, they keep saying they don’t need us, it makes me sick and we must talk about it. The earlier, the better. If you want to deal with people, deal with people who speak to us unnecessarily like that…” Andy Dosty angrily stated.
Over a period of time now, Ghanaian musicians have been riding on radio presenters and bloggers and it’s time we let them understand that we need each other. They can’t always rain insults on us and threaten to beat the hell out of us when we speak against them.
