Ghana’s ruling government NPP has implemented a decision on building a new chamber rumored to cost $200m.

Some Ghanaians have started a campaign on social media to ensure that a new Parliamentary Chamber Block is not constructed. The campaign which has the hashtag #DropthatChamber is currently the top trend on Twitter in Ghana.

This #DropthatChamber campaign commenced during Ghana’s match against Guinea Bissau and was fired up by journalist and TV host Nana Aba Anamoah.

When Nkrumah was building the Tema Motorway, the opposition raised certain critical issues. Busia’s argument was that we should build houses rather than the Motorway but now we benefit from the Motorway. – Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, member of Parliament disclosed.

Ghana’s top rapper Sarkodie has disapproved the government’s take on constructing the new Chamber.

He recounted the government to consider the numerous potholes on our roads and took to his twitter page to condemn the government.
