GRA boss, Frimpong Addai after their offices at Kwame Nkrumah Circle got flamed has confirmed that GHC147 million was burnt due to the fire outbreak at the GRA office on Sunday even though there were no traces of ashes from burnt money.
According to the CEO, the money was supposed to be taken to the bank on Friday but few problems from the accounting department prevented them from taking the money to the bank and due to this reason they have shifted it to Monday.
“The bankers were coming for them this Monday and it’s very unfortunate that this has befallen the nation just a day to Monday”, he said.
He stated clearly that a committee has been set up to investigate the cause of the fire outbreak. He further assures the public that all records were intact in exception of some items and the money that got burnt.
