Brother of Nicki Minaj, Jelani Maraj has been jailed to serve 25 years in prison for continuously raping his stepdaughter of 11 years.
Jelani, sentenced by Judge Robert McDonald to jail in a New York court on Monday, January 25, was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering a child’s welfare.
Although the allegations were repeatedly denied by Nicki Minaj’s brother, claiming the story was fabricated to extort his famous younger sister, his stepdaughter took the stand in a 2017 trial to recount how he raped her at their Baldwin home while he was married to her mother.
He was sentenced to 25 years in jail, two years after a jury handed down the culpable verdict for the sexual abuse that started in 2015.
