Two main ways a gas cylinder can be stopped when it explodes.

Thedistin.com stumbled upon a Ghanaian firefighter video demonstrating the easiest ways to put off an explosive gas from catching fire.

First and foremost, you need to be bold if you want to stop a gas cylinder when it catches fire.

Step 1:

It is essential to use a finger thumb: When a gas catches fire, you need to locate the gas cylinder outlet and place your thumb at the outlet.

This will reduce the pressure the cylinder will take for the fire to pass through its outlet which helps to stop it from exploding.

Step 2:

The use of a wet towel or blanket, or anything in nature that is heavy.

Keep the towel wet, etc., and place it round the top of the cylinder especially considering where the outlet of the cylinder is.

Don’ts:

Never in your first attempt try to stop a fire by pouring water on the gas cylinder.

It rather speeds the exploding but can never be the best option to try when fighting a gas cylinder from exploding.
