Master of Education (M.Ed)

The M.Ed programme is for a three (3) semesters and is by course work only. The Information Technology programme however could be pursued with a dissertation for a duration of four (4) semesters.

UCC DISTANCE GRADUATE GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 2020 /2021

Here is the University Of Cape Coast Undergraduate, Distance, Sandwich, Mature Admission Requirements 2020 /2021.

  1. Applicants seeking admission into any of the programmes must have a first degree from a recognized university or equivalent institution in the intended field of specialization with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours – Lower Division. A selection interview would be conducted for applicants with Third Class or Pass.
  2. In the case of the MBA and MSc programmes, holders of final professional examinations certificate and membership of relevant professional bodies such as Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Institute  of Banking (CIB); Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana (CITG); Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM); The Chartered Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators (CIPMA); Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII); Chartered Institute of Human Resource and Development (CIHRD); Certified Public Accountants (CPA); Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) can apply.
  3. Candidates applying for the MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management programmes should have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Material management. In addition, candidates applying for the MSc programmes must have, at least, three (3) years post qualification work experience.
  4. Applicants for the M.Ed Programmes who do not have a first degree in Education must have, at least, a Diploma in Education in addition to a first degree in the intended field of specialization. Students who successfully complete the M.Ed programmes may progress to do the M.Phil after graduation.
  5. Candidates applying for M.Phil programmes must have a Second degree (Master of Arts or Master of Education) from a recognized University or analogous institution in the intended field of specialization.
  6. Candidates for the PGDE programme must have a minimum of first degree in the relevant area and currently teaching. The candidate must submit an official transcript of academic record and satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College for Teacher Professional Development, such as a selection interview.
  7. Candidates for the M.Ed Information Technology (both with Dissertation and Course Work only) must have a Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed) in any field OR B.A/B,Sc/B.Com etc with a Diploma in Education/Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Certificate in Education.
  8. All candidates must have computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

UCC Distance Education Admission 2020/2021 Detailed Application Procedures: How To Apply

Applicants can make enquiries about the Sale of Application Forms or submit their completed online application forms at the Regional Study Centres of the College of Distance Education,University of Cape Coast:

  1. To begin the UCC Admission 2020/2021 Application Procedures, Visit the official UCC Portal : https://apply.ucc.edu.gh/.
  2. Then Click on your related mode of study on the page by choosing from the options of either Regular Programmes/Graduate Distance Application, Undergraduate Distance Learning Programmes Application, Sandwich Programmes Application or Institute of Education (Sandwich) Programmes Application.
  3. Afterwards, you will be redirected to the login page
  4. On the login page Select Application Level which is either Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, etc.
  5. Then Select the Application Type which either Post WASSCE First Degree, Regular Graduate Studies, First Degree (Mature Entry) , Distance, etc.
  6. Then enter your serial number and pin on the evoucher card you purchased. ( keep the card safe for subsequent login)
  7. Then Click the “I have carefully read all instructions”
  8. Afterwards Click the login button to begin filling the Online UCC admission application form in stages
  9. Then Fill the Application form and attach all required documents and passport picture ( must be JPG or JPEG format and not exceed 20KB )
  10. After filling the Online UCC admission application form, Click ‘Preview’ or ‘Accept’ button to either preview the details you entered or accept them.
  11. You can as well Click on the ‘Edit button’ to make changes to your application or Click the ‘Save and Continue later button’ to save your application form to return later to continue the application.
  12. If you are satisfied with all details you have provided, Click ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to submit the online application form
  13. Afterwards, Click the ‘Print’ button to Print your Confirmation Page / filled online application form.
  14. Dont forget to keep the card safe for subsequent login, Keep your printed Confirmation Page safe as You will require your Reference Number shown on the page to check your admission status and print your admission letter.
  15. After printing the Confirmation Page / filled online application form, click on the “Log out” button.
  16. Each Applicant is required to print a copy of his/her confirmation page, attach his/her results slip(s) and any other documents deemed important and forward them by post to The Deputy Registrar, Division of Academic Affairs, University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast.
  17. Quoting application reference number, names in full without abbreviations, address, study/examination centre, region, contact number (vii). programme which should be handwritten on the EMS envelop. Applicants can also  submit to the nearest College of Distance Education Study Centre.
