The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah has issued the directive for the lockdown of Greater Accra Region, Kasoa Municipally and Kumasi metropolis for the next two weeks.
President Nana Akufo-Addo made the declaration in a national address delivered on Friday, March 27, 2020.
According to the President of the land, the lockdown will start from 1 am on Monday, 31st March 2020 and will run for 2 weeks subject to constant review.
To control activities and prevent further spread of the virus, security personnels have been deployed into the restricted zones to ensure law and order.
In a video sighted by thedistin.com , a stubborn young man has received lashes defying the lockdown order of staying home.
In the video, the young man was seen running for safety saying;
“They are coming and I swear God they coming with a motorcycle”
He was seen with marks from canes and whips all over his body showing how he was whipped mercilessly by the security task force team for refusing to stay home.
