Ashawo in Nigeria have decided to go on a long break due to the wild spread of coronavirus in Nigeria
The reason behind this decision is, first of all, there is no way “chopping” can take place or be enjoyed without body contact.
Secondly, the national coordinator for Nigeria s.ex workers association, Amaka Enemo is simply not ready to go against the decision taken by the Nigerian government to stay home and suspend any form of commercial business that involves body contact.
Since their type of business involves complete body contact they simply can’t risk first of all their own life and that of the client.
She said “There is sensitization across the country, including within our network. Sex workers also offer essential services. However, there is no way sex workers can do their work without body contact. So, they are staying at home to watch what happens.
Additionally, she added that “The government has announced a lockdown and as law-abiding citizens, we will not flout the law. If the government says sit at home, we will all obey because nobody wants to die.
