South African police have arrested a man who was trying to smuggle his girlfriend in his car boot amid lockdown in the country.
South Africa which has more than 3,000 confirmed cases initiated a lockdown to help curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
However, some residents in South African community are devising ways to beat the lockdown.
In a post sighted by thedistin.com on twitter, Faith Mazibuko revealed that a woman found in a car boot as she was being smuggled from one province to another.
South Africa imposed a lockdown on 24 March for three weeks but the authorities extended it until the end of April.
Faith Mazibuko tweeted;
A man was arrested at the N12 roadblock on Friday, 17 April, for attempting to smuggle his girlfriend out of GP to MP, without a permit.
Law enforcement asked the man to open the boot to search, they found a lady inside. She was also arrested, she consented to be smuggled.
