Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Chief of Staff.
According to reports, Professor Agboola Ibrahim Gambari has been appointed as the new chief of staff to President.
Prof. Gambari is a Nigerian scholar, diplomat and an indigene from Kwara State and a former Under-secretary of the United Nations.
With his appointment, he replaces the former Mallam Abba Kyari, who died of COVID-19.
Mallam Abba Kyari died on Friday, April 17, 2020, after battling with complications related to the novel Coronavirus.
According to reports, he tested positive for the novel coronavirus in March after travelling to Germany with a delegation of other Nigerian officials for meetings with Siemens AG.
The new Chief of Staff, according to information gathered will resume work at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
