Ghanaian Dancehall/Afrobeats artiste Stonebwoy speaking to Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah about the way forward for Ghana music industry to grow
First of the Hon. asked him ways him and other musicians make money from music
He humbly told him, for Ghana its mostly out of the shows or events they organise and other little engagements,weddings and parties they are booked on
Secondly he said, the digital platforms is also another source of income
Meanwhile, he made Honorable Kojo Oppong know that the government needs to strengthen the digital platforms in Ghana which can help promote our music into the bigger digital platforms in the world
He further suggested that, the way forward for the music industry is for the government to invite artiste like Himself,Sarkodie,Samini,Shatta Wale,Darkovibes and others to voice out what they also think will help the music industry
The Honorable promised to set up a meeting with the Miniter of Creative Industry very soon so they can discuss the way forward
Not to say anything bad about this but we just hope this is not an indirect way of doing a campaign for another year in power but rather a pure interest in helping the industry to grow
