Kenneth Takyi Agyapong Jnr Shares The Impact Of Year Of Return On Afrochella | Video

KennethTakyi Agyapong Jnr, the first son of Kennedy Agyapong and co-founder of Afrochella Festival gives an insightful influence that Year of Return has on Afrochella.

Afrochella is a one day celebration of African excellence through music and experiences and it is a new culture festival sandwiched in between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Kennedy Agyapong’s son, Kenneth at an event narrated how he together with his two friends foundered the festival.

Kenneth revealed that Afrochella was first held on December 2017 and it had only 4,000 people gracing it. He further narrated that, tourism minister, Madam Catherine Afeku supported them in 2018 with everything they needed for the event.

According to Kenneth, last year’s Year of Return had 60,000 in attendance from people of all walks of lives when the founders were given a full support from Ghana government

KennethTakyi Agyapong Jnr ended his speech by giving credit to the government stating that hadn’t been for their support Afrochella wouldn’t be as successful as it is now.

Afrochella was conceptualized by Abdul Karim Abdullah in 2015. Abdullah, along with co-founder Kenny Agyapong, and COO Edward Adjaye, launched the full-scope festival with the hopes of curating a connection to the continent this year, focused on increasing visibility to the rising talent on the continent.
