President Of Côte d’Ivoire And President Of Nigeria Congratulate Nana Addo On His Victory

President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire, and President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, congratulate President Akufo-Addo on his victory.

On Monday, 7 December 2020, Ghana held a keenly contested general elections and at the end of the whole process, the Electoral Commission of Ghana led by it’s chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa Adukwei declared Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the president elect.

Neighboring African countries have congratulated the president elect in Ghana’s 8th election under the 4th republic of Ghana.

Alassane Ouattara, the president of Côte d’Ivoire has commemorated Nana Akufo-Addo on his victory in a post he shared on his official Facebook page.

He wrote:

My warmest congratulations and best wishes to my brother Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana. I look forward to working with him in the same warm spirit which has marked the historic and fraternal relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana for so many years.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria also took to his official Twitter page to send a warming message to congratulate Ghana’s president-elect on behalf of the Nigerian government and the people.

He wrote:

On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I wish President Akufo-Addo a successful new tenure, and peace and stability in his country, as well as improved relations between our two countries.

Nigeria and Ghana share close historical and cultural ties, and I look forward to working with President Akufo-Addo to realise our shared goals of peace, security and prosperity for our citizens and for the entire ECOWAS community.

I congratulate President Akufo-Addo on his re-election for a second term in office. I also commend the people of Ghana on the successful conclusion of the presidential and parliamentary elections – further proof that constitutional democracy has come to stay in West Africa.
