Under the current Constitution the President is head of both state and government. The President is elected by Ghanaians and serves a four-year term that expires at the next general election; a President may serve a maximum of two terms. 1. Jerry John Rawlings:
He was the first president of the fourth republic of Ghana. He became president of Ghana in 1981. He left power in. His excellency the late Jerry John Rawlings died in November 2020. He was married to Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
They have four children: Zanetor Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa Rawlings, Amina Rawlings and Kimathi Rawlings.
2. John Agyekum Kuffour
His Excellency John Agyekum Kuffour was the second President of the republic of Ghana. He came to power in the year 2000, and left power in 2008 ,after his second term in power. He is married to Theresa Kuffour.
They have five children. John Addo Kuffour, Edward Agyekum Kuffour, Nana Ama Gyamfi and Saah Kuffour, Owusu Afriye Kuffour.

3. John Evans Atta Mills
As the third president of the fourth republic of Ghana, his Excellency the late John Evans Atta Mills became president of Ghana in 2009 , after he won the December 2008 presidential election. He died in 2012, before the end of his first term as president of Ghana. He was married to Ernestine Naadu Mills.
The late president had a son. He is his only child. His name is Samuel Kofi Mills .

4. John Dramani Mahama
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is the fourth president of the fourth republic of Ghana. He became president of Ghana by interim, in 2012 ,after the death of the late president John Evans Atta Mills as he was his vice president. He was elected president of Ghana in 2012 presidential elections. He left power in 2016, after losing the 2016 presidential election. He is married to Lordina Mahama.
They have five children: Sharaf Mahama, Shafik Mahama, Jesse Mahama, Shahid Mahama and Farida Mahama.

6. Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo
His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo is the fifth president of the fourth republic of Ghana. He became president of Ghana in 2017, after winning the 2016 presidential election. He is, in his second term as president of Ghana. He is married to Rebecca Akuffo Addo.
They have five children: Gyankroma Akuffo Addo, Yeboakua Akuffo Addo, Adriana Dukua Akuffao Addo, Edwina Nana Dokua Akuffo Addo and Valery Obaze. See their pictures below.
