Mrs. Beatrice Agyemang Abbey is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and General Manager for Media General TV and oversees the strategic direction and operations of TV3.

Media General, owners of TV3, Onua FM, 3 FM and MG Digital announced Beatrice Agyemang Abbey as the media company’s acting Chief Executive Officer on September 13th 2018. She took over from Pearl Esua-Mensah.

Having started working with firm many years back, as a reporter, she rose through the ranks to be an anchor and played other leading roles before being appointed finally to lead the entire organization.

Specifically, she started out as a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor, became the Managing News Editor, later became the Chief Operating Officer of TV3, kept rising through the ranks till she landed her current position: The Group CEO Media General, owners of TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, APL and MG Digital.

She is inspired by the daunting challenges that come with the journalism profession and her unquenchable thirst to overpower competitors, while giving viewers unparalleled content.

Beginning her TV career in the year 2000, Beatrice Abbey tirelessly interrogated pressing issues and mind-boggling stories as an anchor, a reporter and later Senior Producer.

Her exceptional abilities as a journalist and business leader has seen her rise from a Reporter, Anchor, Producer, Managing News Editor to Chief Operating Officer for TV3.

She assumed her current role as General Manager for MGTV in 2017 and doubled as the Head of MG Digital for well over a year as well as GM for MG Radio for a period.

Beatrice has interviewed high profile interviewees including Ex-Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Ex-Ghana Presidents John Kufuor and John Mahama, then Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

An ardent learner, she has toured almost all major news makers in the US and United Kingdom ― BBC, CNN, VOA, Sky TV, Citizen TV and Kiss TV in Kenya, in her quest to bring on board unmatched experience to outclass her competitors.

Beatrice has undergone an intensive training to aid in her career, at the internationally reputed, Deutsche Welle TV and has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, all from the GIMPA Business School.

She was recently as September, 2020 selected as the commencement keynote speaker during the congregation for University of Professional Studies Accra’s graduation ceremony.

She has also received several awards or led the media organization to heads to chalk many successes and recognition. The latest been the Glitz Africa Ghana Women of the Year Honours. The Glitz Africa Honours is part of the organizations annual mission to celebrate women who use their expertise, position and influence to inspire others to make a difference in driving other women forward through the Ghana Women of the Year Honours.

The Ghana Women of the Year Honours is a ceremony where women excelling and making a great impact in various fields of endeavor are celebrated and their stories shared so as to inspire the next generation of ambitious and impact-conscious women.

The Honourees which included CEO Beatrice Agyeman “were selected by an astute board of achievers who use clear and objective criteria in ensuring that the final list comprises the most deserving women in various fields,” Glitz Africa said.
