A tipper truck with registration number GG 3542- 20 on Monday morning 12th July 2021 crashed into one of the toll booths at the Tema Motorway
The accident occurred at about 6:30 am when the truck heading towards Accra from the Tema section crashed into one of the six booths damaging the structure and injuring at least four attendants. The injured have since been rushed to the Tema Hospital
One of the four victims, Isaac Koomson, 56, is reported to have had both legs damaged in the accident, with no death recorded.
According to by CitiNews, one of the toll-booth attendants is feared dead after a video showed the body lying motionless when the truck crashed into the booth.
The unfortunate incident occurred early this Monday morning, July 12, 2021.
The report reveals that another visually and hearing impaired person who is a cleaner also sustained various degrees of injuries after he was pulled out of the wrecked booth.
An eyewitness said the speed at which the truck was coming was evident that something was definitely not right.
He added that it could either be that the driver was inexperienced or his breaks had failed.
I saw the tipper driver rushing to the booth at the Tema side. The rate at which he was speeding showed that something was definitely going wrong. Either his brake had failed or he was an inexperienced driver. By the time we realized, he had run into the toll-booth, killing the attendant
