NPP chairman of Sunyani-Bono Jon Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC has summoned Attorney General to Supreme court over presidential wives salary
Chairman Abronye has single-handedly taken Attorney General to Supreme Court over the salaries of the Presidential spouses.
The 8th parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana has approved committee recommendation of Presidential spouses salaries payment of Ghc21000 per month backdated from 2017.
However, the NPP Regional Chairman Abronye DC unhappy about the development has summoned Attorney General to Supreme court over presidential wives salary.
Basing his arguments on the 1992 constitution Act 71, clause (1) and(2), presidential wives positions doesn’t fall under public office holders and therefore they are not entitled to any salary as a public office holders
In a writ of summons, Supreme Court ordered Attorney General to respond within a specified time frame
